Hawaiian Grilled Club Sandwich
This is a very old recipe that I learnt from a friend more than a decade ago. It is a very easy to make recipe and perfect for a Sunday breakfast or brunch. This recipe brings various tropical ingredients together with cheese to give a unique taste to this delicious sandwich.
Hint of chilli adds oomph to the sandwich. This is one of our favourite family breakfast items. I am sure you will enjoy this.
Ingredients
- Bread slices 6
- Pineapple rings 2
- Cucumber finely chopped 4 tablepoons
- Lettuce roughly chopped 4 tablepoons
- Cheddar cheese grated 4 tablepoons
- Light mayonnaise 4 tablepoons
- Black pepper ground ¼ teaspoon
Instructions
- In a small microwaveable plate, spread 2 tablespoons of cheese on a slice of bread and put a pineapple ring on top.
- Place it in the microwave for 30 seconds so that the cheese is melted.
- Place another slice of bread on the top. Spread cucumber and lettuce on this slice. Sprinkle salt and pepper and some chilli flakes(optional).
- Then dress with some mayonnaise on top and cover with another slice of bread.
- Repeat the process to make another sandwich.
- Place both the sandwiches in the preheated grill / panini press. Toast on medium heat till brown.
- Serve hot with cold guava juice or any other tropical juice.
